Families with student(s) who are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch may help their school and community by applying for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Although families may apply for these programs at any point during the year, HIDOE is urging families to apply by May 24, 2021, so that your application may be counted towards helping your school and community become a CEP School! In an effort to keep Nānāikapono Elementary safe and virus-free, we require any staff or student who travels to the mainland or internationally to quarantine for 10 days after return from travel. This 10-day quarantine period is required regardless of participation in the State’s Pre-Testing Travel program. This additional safety precaution is being implemented because traveling is still recognized as a high-risk activity, not recommended by the CDC, and that there is an increase in Covid-19 variants. Quarantine is not required for inter-island travel. These requirements will remain in place for the remainder of the school year. Mahalo in advance for helping us keep our school safe and healthy!
